Juárez Theater (Opera House)
As a starting point for the famous callejoneadas (roving musicians singing and walking around the alleys), the Juarez theater definitely constitutes  one of the city´s indubitable symbols, conceived in an extraordinary manner by its builders.

Alhóndiga de Granaditas

Built at the end of the XVIII century, the building that was given the name of Alhóndiga de Granaditas was destinated as its name states, for the purchases and sale of grains and of course, for their warehousing too. Besieged by Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla´s troops during the first few days of tha war of independence, the royalists that had sought shelter in it saw the moment in which the heavy doors were thrown down and then burnt for days thanks to the heroism of Juan José de Los Reyes Martínez “El pípila” nowadays this extraordinary building is a museum.

El Callejón del Beso, (The Kiss Alley)

The result of the city´s plan which followed the willful shapes of the terrain, Guanajuato´s alleys ionvoke the times when the region was an important part of the silver road. The Callejón de Beso which is a spot where the balconies are slighghtly separed, has given rise to the story, that goes from mouth to mouth, about the young lovers who caresses by the moon, serve as a romantic backdrop for the legend of the Callejon del Beso.

MUSEUMS

The Diego Rivera´s museum.- The internationally renowned muralist and objects belonging to the Mexican artist and more than 100 original paintings by  the “maestro”, all from different times and techniques. The museum offers temporary exhibits, movies, lectures, concerts, literary creation workshops and other cultural activities.

Olga Costa-José Chávez morado art museum this is the manor where artists Olga Costa and José Chávez Morado lived. It holds an interesting collection of furniture and ceramics, glass and gilded objects, as well as icons, masks, etc., and a collection of more than 500 prehispanic pieces and more than 70 works of art by outstanding Mexican and foreign artists. Activities incude temporary exhibits, lectures and concerts.

Museo del Pueblo (the people´s museum) A historic 17th century mansion formerly owned by the Marquis of Rayas houses shows important collections of Mexican art. The José Chávez Morado hall features 18th and 19th century works; the Mexican Art roots features works of art from prehispanic ages to the present time; the Hermenegildo Bustos Hall festures a collection by this Guanajuato´s artist. The baroque Chapel , decorated with murals by José Chávez Morado, offers lectures, concerts, workshops, courses and other activities.

Museo Iconográfico Del Quijote (Quijote Iconographic Museum)

This museum exhibits Works of art dedicated to the famous spanish factorial character “Don Quixote” among the masterpieces on display are works by Dalí, Rafael and Pedro Coronel.

Alfredo Dugés Museum

This Natural Histor museum contains a collection of reptiles, batrachians, fish, mammalians, insects, birds, plats, minerals, bones and fossils.
